Any other tips to consider before presuming the CPU is, despite being 'guaranteed not dead upon arrival,' in fact, dead?
Granted, I do not have any previous experience with this. However, I properly flashed BIOS and was under the assumption (based what I deemed :sufficient' research [perhaps not enough]) I merely place new CPU in slot and it is recognized.
Do I have to alter Microcode information? I presumed the BIOS took care of recognizing the new CPU.

Any help would be appreciated.
