Hello everyone. I just got the LITE-ON SHM-165H6S LightScribe, DVD, and CD burner from newegg.com . Recently I just got it installed and had it as my master optical drive and only one for now, because my 200w power supply is very weak and it freezes the computer if I plug in my DVD-ROM drive as the slave with it. it is an ATAPI/IDE drive. It burns discs well without any problems or coasters but the issue is that it won't read any type of disc. In My Computer, it shows up as DVD-RAM Drive (E) , but when I insert a CD even DVD, it shows up as CD Drive with the disc type's icon. I double click on it and there is nothing on it. Kodak verite 65 plus drivers for mac. I updated the firmware from HS06 to HS07. I let Windows do the Found new Hardware taskbar thing. Nothing works. I contacted them and they were not available there. My system is the HP Pavilion 753n which features:
1GB RAM (I upgraded from 512 pc2100 DIMM)
Intel 845G Chipset (if needed)
Pentium 4 Northwood clocked at 2.53GHz
80 gig HD by Samsung
I wonder if it is the bios that is the problem. If it is, please email me the location of the update download at ndog5000@gmail.com , please.
