Hello to all,
i am back after a few months doing other stuff and starting new projects.
This thread is for Lion Updates and is meant to be the continuation of Minihack's work on Snow Leopard. I do not intend to upgrade to Mountain Lion. I am planning to purchase a Mac with Mountain Lion installed.
I want to keep my Dell hackintosh with Snow Leopard 10.6 and Lion 10.7 for testing software purposes.
I am having hard times with Lion 10.7.5 update. I used the Combo Update (MacOSXUpdCombo10.7.5.dmg).
first try :
replaced IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext with older versions 2.6.3 and 1.3.5 respectively.
Applied the AppleHDA rollback from Multibeast.
patched AICPUPM.kext with AICPMPatch.pl by El Coniglio.
Since wrmsr is blocked by BIOS in our Dell Vostros we must apply this patch at every update, otherwise KP !
there were 10 wrmsr instances to be patched before.
But on 10.7.5 there is 11 instances to patch so i commented the following lines using the # sign.
Be careful to run the patch only once !

but i had a KP . a problem with fakesmc.kext !
second try :
put back the current versions of IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext but then i have a kp coming from AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext
i know DSDT edits are needed but never bothered so far. There is a thread at insanelymac by Zprood.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
So i am back using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 right now ..
